The Tote was one of many disused buildings along Mumbai’s race course that was converted into a series of restaurants and bars. British firm, Serie Architects’ inspiration for the design came not from the colonial architecture of the area, but from the immense shade trees that surround the site. They sought to use their organic textures and complex patterns to inform the structure of the interior space, which resulted in a completely ethereal, elegant space.
