Hanging ten over the Hollywood Hills, the Stahl House, Case Study #22, is perhaps the most infamous of the Case Study houses of the late 40s and early 60s in LA.  Designed by Pierre Koenig, it has been featured in dozens of films, TV shows, music videos and advertisements. The Stahl house was built client Bucky Stahl who was enamored with his lot’s incredible views of Los Angeles.  He was determined to have a wall-less wing on that side and (like Leonard Malin with the Chemosphere) was told that it was impossible.  Koenig was the only architect up for the challenge.  Today, the Stahl house is privately owned, occasionally open to the public.  If you’re in LA, you should definitely check it out.  http://bit.ly/PkeHKC
