Frank is at it again...
This is the “new world symphony” by Frank Gehry and his team.  As it’s predecessors - this design is a more calmer version of some his other works…due to make its debut this year. As we mentioned before in terms of design the building’s exterior portrays a quiet, almost composed design.  Who says FG doesn’t pay attention to interior design, look at these laid...

A seemless addition to the skyline...
8 Spruce Street. The tallest luxury residential tower in New York City, was designed by the architect Frank Gehry. If you want to go under the radar, going to the tallest residential building in the Western hemisphere isn’t the way to go. This is not an introverted building. But if you insist, the new 76 story giant is the nearest thing to a Jean Nouvel scraper in the range…...

A living room ready for liftoff...
“I thought it was going to be a ranch house,” said the 59-year-old Ms. Fiekowsky, a violinist who plays with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, admitting she, too, was nervous when her husband told her he wanted to have half the house float in the air. Mr. Schwartz, whose firm Schwartz/Silver Architects has completed projects for clients including the Massachusetts Institute of...

Calvin Klein: Super sexy in Germany
First happy new year! Okay so…was that Calvin Klein installation a chic blend of sexy minimalist shapes, or is it just the models? J. Mayer H. clashes ivory white sculpture against the architectural grain… Calvin Klein shapely statement caught my eye this new year in 2011. This is a surprising statement, probably pitched in from left-field, but it is nevertheless flawless. And...

A Fashion Designer’s APT on the UWS
Die-hard fashion and architecture fans will want to bury their faces into their white pillowcases because we are about to unleash a funky apartment by designer Katie Ermilio. It is, essentially a modern day classic, a Central Park West apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and a collection of fashion -esque things… Um can you say Sex and the City. Until then, feast your peepers...

How much does your building weigh mister?
The Norberto Lopez Amado & Carlos Carcas of Filmmaking probably involves a lot of shouting, high-fiving and a detailed understanding of shooting art in motion. Put simply, they capture great moments. And this film, in the process of epic soundtracks, a small story about big designs-that-turn-into-masterpieces will be told. Norman Forster is brilliant. Dubbed ‘How much does your...

Rocky in Finland, I think not!
Villa Mecklin was designed by Huttunen–Lipasti–Pakkanen Architects and is located in the hear of Naantali, Finland. The irony of ‘this rocky construction site’ is that you end up with a design not rocky at all, structurally and statistically at least, than if you’d specced it yourself. To wit: simply sticking to visual - wooden platform, clean lines, , - there are some 31 billion...
